my weekends are usually such a blur. they involve a lot of running and multi-tasking. and they always start and end the exact same way. i get home from work on Friday and the first thing out of Emily’s mouth is, "What’s our Friday treat?" and the last thing out of her mouth on Sunday night (when the husband and i get home from our weekly night-out with friends) is always "My stomach hurts. i had a baby throw-up in my mouth and i feel like i might barf"
every weekend. and i seriously wish i was joking.
well…she went to the Royal Winter Fair with her Daddy, while i worked at the Today’s Parent Baby and Toddler Show. where, i’m sure, there was no shortage of treats
(note the ever-growing mullet on Josh in the photo)
and every sunday morning we take the kids out for breakfast. We are big fans of a restaurant called Kiva’s…but we do occasionally take them to Tim Horton’s. and Emily always manages to get several donuts out of this…she eats. her sister and brother don’t. she’s the victor – she gets the spoils. no shortage of treats.
we also made a birthday party for Joshua. We took all the boys in his class, and Emily and his one girl choice (too cute) to see the Bee Movie. In a word, it was CHAOS. but the kids had a good time. and i sat next to Emily and once she finished her popcorn, she ate mine. and once she finished her drink, she drank mine. so, again, no shortage of treats.
(ps. movie was adorable. i highly recommend)
and then she went to a bowling birthday party. where, say it with me, there was no shortage of treats.
so, it comes as NO surprise to me that Emily has a stomach ache every.single.sunday.night.
(but, of course, it still doesn’t make me panic any less and pop the zantac AND the xanax with anticipation of a vomit-filled night that NEVER comes to fruition.)
how was your weekend?? 🙂

Sounds like fun-filled, busy weekend. With lot’s of treats:)
I wonder if her tummy ache could have something to do with knowing she goes back to school in the morning as well as copious sweets. I got those as a girl, and so did one of my boys. I loved school, but I was always a bit stressed thinking about going.

Ohhhh, we go to the Royal every year. I didn’t get to go this year because Josh’s family was in…. Too bad. Monkey’d have loved it!

I HATED the Bee Movie. I actually had that bored-butterfly stomach and had to leave the theatre to walk around (don’t worry, the kids were fine). Even my 8 year old said “that was totally not the best movie I’ve ever seen”.
Btw, thanks SO much to you and your AMAZING pal Tova for working at the show. Didn’t our booth totally rock?!

last night was my daughter’s 3d birthday party so our sunday night was spent trying to calm the two sugar-raging bodies of our two toddlers who at 11:30 pm were doing jumping jacks in the the family room. I’m barely functional today. it was fun hanging out at the baby toddler show – you look great, and Tova is super-nice and very talented at trade-showing!

Have you tried Cora’s near the Superstore? Your kids would probably like the setting although it’s usually pretty busy on weekends. Apple Jacks is also good for breakfast in the area.

well .. I guess you got the gist of my sunday .. say, throw up 4 times .. and although he has congestion, there is truth to the fact that while I was negotiating cell-phones for hubby and I, he was sitting with a new box of choc.s from Laura secord with dad for a little diversion. Let’S just say .. it was at that point that he first rushed for the bathroom in the mall.
Weekend’s are a blur. Friday dinner out with kids.
Hockey saturday morning.get groceries.dolunch.cleanup.laundry.yardwork.dinner.cleanup.passoutinbedat9pm. Sunday hockey.then repeat all except for groceries.
It’s fun. But it is too short! and not a ton of relaxation.
I need more weekend…..
