I don’t know about you, but when I was really little, I’d come home from school, my older sister would give me some oreos and milk, and we’d watch reruns of The Monkees. Though I can’t tell you what actually happened from episode to episode, I loved that show.
But when I heard Davy Jones died yesterday, it wasn’t The Monkees I thought of, it was Sandra Boynton.
Here’s why:
Thank you Davy Jones for your music, your humour and for entertaining not just my older sister and me, but my children too.

AWWWWWWWW – I’ve never heard this – I’m behind the times – so loving it.

I wish Davy Jones had been MY personal penguin. Thanks for sharing this.

Racheal – I thought the same thing.
At my oldest son’s kindergarten concert 5 years ago, they performed Personal Penguin with that track to guide them through. I have it on video. It is one of my favourite things.
Two years ago my middle son’s teacher did a dvd with a photo montage set to several different songs. Personal Penguin among them.
🙁

I’d recognise that voice anywhere…
I love Sandra Boynton. And now I love this little penguin, too. Thanks for sharing, Racheal!
