This morning the Hubs forwarded me this listical (14 Differences Between First-Time Parents and Experienced Parents) with the subject line: “That about says it”. Yep!

At this point we’re fourteen for fourteen.

Poor little LJ is getting lots of attention, but a lot of the time his needs can’t be met immediately. Unlike his big brother L’il E, he doesn’t have a bedroom, a crib or a chest of drawers. He’s sleeping in a borrowed bassinet beside our bed and his minimal pile of clothes (wash and wear) are being kept in a laundry basket. Whatever! He seems pretty content.

With L’il E, I had a solid routine that involved a morning bath followed by massage, then I would dress him up in a cute outfit and take him out for a walk. I would fuss over him all day it seemed. With this one, he has to march to the beat of his big bro. He spends most of the day in the Moby Wrap, so I can get out of the house with L’il E, or lying on the couch surrounded by the crazy noises of a toddler.

Come 4:30/5:00 I’ve usually had it and I’m ready for the Hubs to get home from work. Without fail both kids are crying, hungry, tired and ready for a change of parent.

Friends, that’s the beauty of Elmo.

I always said I wouldn’t be one of those mothers that let my kids watch TV but who was I kidding. Elmo on Netflix from 4:30-5:30 gives me some peace, gives me time to start dinner and chills L’il E right out.

So far this parenting thing is a breeze. Well kind of…

i think we all “screw up” our first one 🙂 anyway, if the kids are content and thriving you’re doing it right!

oh my! I am in love with the picture of the boys. It’s saying
“Big brother, teach me everything you know!”

Nothing wrong with tv. Except by the third kid, they’ve got the pvr box full of their crappy shows.

Elmo, Dora, Wiggles …hey, if it saves your sanity, go for it! Never say never. It’s different the second time around. Thank goodness for Netflix!

TV will become your best friend. Don’t judge. 😉
