Four years ago today I got put on bedrest. Will, just like he’s shown now, had a mind of his own. The kid had stopped growing. So they ordered me to bed to see if he’d pack on the pounds. Ah, if I’d only known how heavenly it was going to be maybe I wouldn’t have bitched about it so much. What I would PAY for a week of bedrest right now!
After six days, it wasn’t working. It was time to get him out and get him growing on the outside. This Sunday will be four years. FOUR YEARS. Where the hell has four years gone?
Well. If you look at this video, you’ll see where it went!
The song? It’s very special to me. In the midst of my postpartum, Ray Lamontagne came to Toronto. My boss called and said get down to the studio. I loaded Will up and down we went. Ray sang, You Are The Best Thing, and Will and I danced. In a weird way, for a moment, everything felt normal and calm. And eventually – it did get normal…calm….well maybe not!
Happy Birthday to the Bubs, the Schmook, Just Will. The love of my life.
