I’m newborn tired…but I don’t have a newborn

January 21, 2010 by Jen

OMG am I tired. Like up every 1/2 hour tired. Like sleeping with one ear open tired. Like rubbing the back of a puking, retching, heaving child for 36 hours tired. This is the kind of tired where you can’t find words. You know they’re in there but you can’t access them or form a cohesive sentence. This is the kind of tired where you get record low scores on Bejeweled Blitz on facebook because you needed 5 minutes to do something simply mindless and it turns out Bejeweled Blitz actually requires a certain level of consciousness. This is newborn tired. Except you don’t have a newborn and now you know why you will never, ever have a newborn again.

This is the tired moms are made of. This is the tired I would only, ever do for my kids. For this little sweetheart who suffered for 2 days and lost 6 lbs from her already skinny little body.

*Note the puke bowl in the background. Just moments before she was asleep IN the bowl. Poor thing.

What a doll. I am glad she is on the mend. Emma wasn’t old enough for the bowl so it was all over me for 4 days which I am sure you can remember.

Oh, no! Poor munchkin. And poor Mom. Hope all improves very soon.
And I must be the only person on the planet who has resisted (afraid to gain yet another addiction) bejewelled blitz…sigh…

    Awww…the poor bobbin!
And yes, bejewelled blitz requires more than a little consciousness. Arrrggh…
