Mom’s Bikini Pic Is The Real Way To Break The Internet

March 24, 2015 by Marianne Litman Leave a Comment

We all remember Kim K’s infamous Paper Magazine cover in which she set out to “break the internet”, effectively making breaking the internet a thing. Kim is a mom and we are all for moms flaunting what they got.

But what about when what you’ve got isn’t picture-perfect, photoshopped flawlessness?

Enter Rachel Hollis of The Chic Site and her Facebook post that has moms everywhere embracing their post-baby bodies, flaws and all. Hollis posted a photo of herself in her bikini on vacation with the following caption:

“I have stretch marks and I wear a bikini. I have a belly that’s permanently flabby from carrying three giant babies and I wear a bikini. My belly button is saggy… (which is something I didn’t even know was possible before!!) and I wear a bikini. I wear a bikini because I’m proud of this body and every mark on it. Those marks prove that I was blessed enough to carry my babies and that flabby tummy means I worked hard to lose what weight I could. I wear a bikini because the only man who’s opinion matters knows what I went through to look this way. That same man says he’s never seen anything sexier than my body, marks and all. They aren’t scars ladies, they’re stripes and you’ve earned them. Flaunt that body with pride!”

Post by The Chic Site.

The mother of three’s post has over 325,000 likes, 9,575 comments and over 41,000 shares on Facebook as of this morning.

And we get it. It’s nice to see women everywhere embracing their bodies and accepting themselves for who they are. And when it comes to moms, remember, your body has been through a lot and every mark, scar and stretch mark is a badge of honour!
