A friend of mine rolled through town the other day… he was only going to be in Montreal for 36 hours before heading to New York (next stops Stockholm and Paris) and asked if I had time to do a little photo shoot with my family, since one of the things he does is take pictures. Oh hells to the YES!!
Martin is never home at this hour, for these kinds of shenanigans, but we manage without him. We just went outdoors, and Greg just clicked away for close to an hour in the park across the street from our house, and in the surrounding area before he had to leave. I served him freshly baked oatmeal chocolate chip cookies (from a mix, yo – don’t get all excited) and apple juice to drink, since he doesn’t drink wine or spirits of any kind. (What the…?!)
Anyway, what I love about rare experiences like these, is seeing how my kids look – indeed, how we all look – in front of someone else’s lens. I take just about every single photo we have of ourselves, and it’s amazing how different it all is when someone else’s shutter is whining.
Amazingly great. And fun. And beautiful.
We laughed and we laughed, my delicious boy and I…
Thank you so much, darling Greg Wong, for the late afternoon fun! Please promise to come back soon!! (I promise to make more cookies…)
Do you have family photos taken, professional or otherwise? Where do you go? What do you do?!

Wonderful shots, Tracey! You two are gorgeous!
Had professional shots taken last year at Christmas and LOVED them. Pricey, but well worth it.

love love love. So blessed to have a shutter bug friend as well – the best pictures of Will are always from her – these are fantastic. Amanda said it so well – he’s right on the cusp but still adoring his mama…

Awe, such cute shots of you two, and I’m sure you’ll cherish these for years to come. If you still lived in Toronto, I would do a session for you, so next time you come to my neck of the woods, we’ll have to do a photo shoot of you and your two beauties. Actually I need to do a session with my kiddos too, but my problem is that I’m always behind the lens and never in front of it,lol. I can’t stress how important it is to do a session every so often, because once they grow up and are out of the house, the pictures will be the only thing left behind to remind us of how cute and sweet they were when they were young. Hurry up and come to Toronto for a visit girl, I’d love to see you and your babies!!

These are all just beautiful and capture such a precious time with your boy…you can tell he’s on the cusp of “big boy” territory but his love for you is so evident (and vice versa!). We had professional family photos taken only once last year and I wish we could do it every year to chronicle the changes. Alas, it’s rather pricey so we might do it in another couple years or so.
