As I tried to step into my rain boots this morning, my foot met a bunch of hard, plastic edges…
Thank you, darling girl.
After I dropped the child off at school, I returned home to straighten up after the morning whirlwind, as I usually do. In the TV room, I spied a blanket covering some kind of mound of stuff…
What kills me about this scene is that besides the fact that all creatures at the party have delicious eats and drinks (I mean, of course they do!) when you look closely, you can see that they’re also wearing necklaces, headbands (that’s… new) and scarves are around the necks of rabbit and the doll in the purple dress. Neckerchiefs, even. That is so funny to me… Why yes, I’m tree… have you met my apple? (Oh, and monkey is wearing a baby onesie.)
I’m not sure why this baby is on the bookshelf all alone, but I’m pretty sure Ava Scarlett hasn’t seen Dirty Dancing yet, so she can’t have possibly caught the reference about babies and corners… (heh.) Or, perhaps since it was sitting next to the baby picture of herself, the doll clearly has company? Maybe she’s in time-out? Maybe she prefers to eat her cupcake and coffee in private. Who knows?!
I’d love to know where she found the time to do all of this… she was barely up for an hour before school started.
I don’t always understand the way they play, but at least this child seems happy. 🙂

I used to come across these scenes regularly. My daughter used to put every single one of her hair clips, scrunchies and elastics onto her stuffed animals. That was A LOT of undoing. They were similarly accessorized with scarves, belts and head bands. I miss those days a little. Very cute.

Just noticed that Ernie looks like he’s passed out drunk! What’s in that tea?!

Soo cute! My girls do the same things, minus the neckerchiefs. And they do it fast. And they have the same tea set! I love the way they play. Love listening in.
