Summer Money

June 13, 2013 by Christine 2 Comments

Aside from the kids heading back to school, September is kind of a crap month.
That first month back to school is dedicated to filling out forms and writing cheques.

I feel like it’s September again.
$175 each for outdoor soccer
$100 for recital tickets for Eva’s dance
$250 for two weeks of dance camp for Eva
$410 for three weeks of theatre camp for Cuyler
$200 for one week of epic sports camp for Cam (it’s really called Epic Sports Camp)
**Note that these camps aren’t even getting me through July. I have yet to register them for August programs.

I also just had to pay out $26 for a field trip for Cam and another $150 deposit for a 3 day Muskoka trip he will be taking with school next fall. When is the balance due? September.
Oh. And pictures. Soccer pictures. Dance pictures…those too.
*sigh…*

It’s a good thing I started working back in January.
The only problem is that I’m off for the summer and won’t have any money to write all of the September cheques. oy.

Anyone else feeling the summer pinch?
What do your kids do during the summer? Camps? Chill out at home? Combo of both?

Totally. Between the camp registrations and gifts for teachers and such, I feel like we’ve just been writing cheques for dollars, dollars, dollars… YIKES!!

[…] as Christine mentioned the other day, I feel like June in particular is just one fat month of cheque-writing. […]
