Go to the Office

January 19, 2011 by shawnd

I was giving Pea a bath this past Sunday, and as per the normal process, she was playing with a bunch of her friends along the edge of the tub.  In this particular instance, Tigger, Dr. Duck and Woody from Toy Story were all playing together.

Then, I overheard the following:
Dr. Duck: “Alright Tigger, you need to go to the office.”

Tigger: “Ok, I’m going.”

(Tigger bounces from one side of the tub to the next.}

Woody: “Hi Tigger, you are in the office.”

Tigger: “Yes.”

Woody: “Why.”

Tigger: “Because I wasn’t listening.”

Woody: “Ok, good.”
Let’s recap a few salient points to this story.
  • My wife watched Pea from birth to age 1.  She never sent her to the office for not listening.
  • My mother- and father-in-law watched Pea from 1 to 2.5.  They never sent her to the office for not listening.
  • Pea has been in pre-casa for 10 days, and, well, as far as I know she has never been sent to any office for not listening.

So, yeah, um, WTF?!?

Sounds like someone else was sent to the office & Pea was highly aware of the situation!! My oldest is in Kindergarten & came home from school with the term “break bench.” Not only that, but many stories of who had to “take a break” on said bench, but of course (ha ha) it was never him.
Gotta love how their brains work.

Too funny! My girls come up with stuff like that all they time. I think some of it is from books TV and now that they are at school, they get a lot of it there. Pea could have been exposed to a book with someone going to the office, we have one where Brother Bear has to go.

We have Dr. Duck too! Hilarious….
Who knows where they get any of this stuff – that is what is so hilarious.
Will plays ‘go to the office’ and he always says he’s bringing coffee, computer and lots of food….I better start slimming down my lunch bag…

One has to wonder why/how this whole conversation took place in Pea’s mind and what her perception is of being sent TO THE OFFICE. We should all adhere to this thought process and be mindful of listening to one another or else…….it’s off to THE OFFICE for you!
