Here’s to you, Dad

Today is my dad’s 80th birthday and for some reason I remember the first gift I bought him with my own money.  I was probably 10 years old. It was a coffee mug with this saying written on it.

At the time I thought it was funny, hysterical even, and very ‘us’. Over the course of the next several decades whenever one of us would do something dumb or bad or rude or wrong- we would say it and the other would jump in and say it too.

Here’s to you dad. I am as good as you are as bad as I am.
