In celebration of Black History Month join in the festivities and participate in Carnival themed activities. Make some noise in the drumming workshops lead by musicians, create your own Carnival headpiece, listen to storytellers or go on a scavenger hunt to learn about the stories and history of Carnival.

KGO at the Art Gallery of Ontario
Monday, February 18th
The AGO transforms into the Kids Gallery of Ontario (KGO). The gallery will be focused on everything for the family with hands-on art activities exploring the theme of “art explosion”. Families will have a chance to “blow up” and break down art. The day also includes an all-day dance party in Walker Court with a DJ and costumed animators.Kid-led tours will give families a “kids’ eye view” of the AGO collections. Family Yoga and story times are also scheduled. In partnership with Bunch Inc. Family pass for 2 adults and up to 5 youths (ages 6 to 17) is $39. As always, free admission for kids age 5 and under.

The Wizard of Oz
Ed Mirvish Theatre
Follow the yellow brick road to the newest stage production by Andrew Lloyd Webber with Mirvish Productions. You may recognize the lovely and talented Danielle Wade who stars as Dorothy. She captured Canadian hearts as she was selected as the winner of CBC’s Over The Rainbow reality show. You’ll recognize your favourite songs from the original screenplay and discover new songs created for this re-creation for the stage.

Canadian International AutoShow

Metro Toronto Convention Centre
Car enthusiasts love flocking to this show not just to get an idea of what the next car will be from the big players Ford, Honda, BMW, Mercedes etc…but there’s plenty of drool worthy vehicles there to check out including the 2014 Aston Martin Vanquish (the special Skyfall Silver edition inspired by the recent James Bond Film), the 2013 Lamborghini Gallardo Lp 560-4 Spyder, Tesla and many more. CBC & Evergreen Brick Works Family Day Outdoor Winter Picnic

Share in the making of a community soup and meet Bo On The Go! From Kids’ CBC!
CBC’s Live Right Now and Evergreen Brick Works invites families to head outdoors and take part in a special winter picnic event. Dress warm, pack a picnic and join in an afternoon of skating, healthy eating and activities. If you don’t want to pack a lunch, there will be great food vendors on hand including Pimenton, Local Kitchen & Wine Bar and My Little Dumplings, as well as a President’s Choice demo table. A homemade stone soup will be prepared on-site over the campfire for all to share; families are encouraged to bring a fresh vegetable to contribute!
