you must be kidding-lazy Christmas

November 27, 2010 by Nancy

While I do find the early November Christmas push like a niggling brother chastising you into submission, when December 1st hits I LOVE CHRISTMAS. I love the smells, the food, the parties, the quiet moments, the music and the push to love thy neighbour, thy stranger, and thy person who normally drives you crazy.
So when I saw this serious (not tongue in cheek) crafty idea to “create a modern, fuss free take on the traditional Tannenbaum” I wanted to scream. The idea is to paint a canvas with chalkboard paint and draw a tree on it and hang it low in your living room, place prezzies beneath and enjoy its soft glow?
“Stylish and no messy needles”. Yes, life can be  darn inconvenient.

I actually thought it was kinda cool looking when I spied it in a magazine… but I’d never actually do it. I NEED that forest smell in my house!

I’ll ditto your sentiment – YOU MUST BE KIDDING?
Well if you’re going to out that LITTLE effort into Christmas why bother?
Although I think that process would take longer and be alot less fun and creative than decorating an actual tree.
