What’s making me smile right now!

June 21, 2010 by amreen

I just joined a neighbourhood book club and I’m quite excited! Summer TV is more than horrible, so I’m hoping to spend more time reading on my patio. Here’s the selection for our next meet.

On the recommendation of a friend, I bought this fabulous new lipstick by Chanel, and I love it.  My lips have never felt so moisturized for so long.  The colour Mademoiselle (see the bottom left picture of Vanessa Paradis – it’s bizarrely wonderful that the colour works on her and I!) is perfectly subtle and works as well at the gym as it does out for dinner.

My three T-shirt dresses from Roots.  I adore adore adore these (I have a few different styles) – they wash easily, don’t stretch, fade or tear.  The style is so flattering and I love the colour and print! Here’s a pic of the Julia dress which I own in black.

Being able to play outside every day! I feel liberated from the TV and the confines of the family room.  I am once again SO grateful for the wonderful neighbours we have and for having an instant play group every evening on our fun-filled street!  Here’s the Girl with a friend, splashing it up in the pool.

Hello! I guess I should go get that dress fast before they are sold out, that’s exactly the style of dress I like as you can dress it up for the office or down for the weekend 😉 Also, where can I find that pool? Would love to have it for my little one here who loves water!

The Dress – I find it super-flattering bc it camouflages my trouble spot which is my tummy. the jersey knit is soft and comfortable and i wear it all the time. in fact i’m wearing it right now!
Lipstick at the Gym: It may sound weird, but I ALWAYS wear lipstick and mascara – even to the gym! Can’t do without!

That dress is adorable! I must get one. It looks just perfect for summer. But does it flatter all shapes? Sometimes I see things and think “gorgeous!” and then I put it on and…well, not so good.
    Great happy summer list!!

I saw you wear yours at Blue, Amreen – I really liked it!
We have the exact same pool! All my kids love it still – even the 9 year old!

I bought that Roots Julia dress in charcoal and brought it up to Blue Mountain for Urban Blogfest, but it was too cool to pull it out. I did love the fact that I could throw it in my suitcase and it came out wrinkle-free!
