I am like most moms- a juggler. It does not mean this is done well but all those balls are in the air at once. They fall, I drop them, some smash and on some occasions it is all a beautifully choreographed circus act. Is it time to mention single parent status here to further a point? Because there have always been many balls in the air I have gotten used to high acitivity, multi tasking and sweeping categorizations and groupings where necessary.
Having two children close in age (2 years apart) and of the same gender, with similar interests, dress sizes, and academic needs, has meant they have done many of the same things over the years, worn each other’s clothing, shared friends, hobbies, activities and elementary and high schools.
My life is shifting now; I am no less busy, just different busy– more time to spend at work , at play, and to pursue some of my own interests. I am also able to do one at a time parenting. I am spending more time with one daughter at a time. And I love that.
Here with my oldest at a spectacular event in the Spring. We had the world’s greatest time.
and last week at the ballet with my younger daughter- who was 6’2 beside me in her heels!
Do you spend time one on one with your children or is it ‘group’ to conquer?

My kids are almost 5 years apart in age so what appeals to each of them is different. I totally enjoy spending one-on-one time with them!
