last time I checked I was a girly girl

June 6, 2012 by Nancy

girly girl.jpg

I spent a bit of time with a very old friend recently who says her favourite go to outfit is sweats and a turtleneck

I admire her for this
but I am too fluffy, too girlish and too in love with putting things together to be this solid an individual
I would shrivel up and die if I had to wear that every day

The first creative thing I do every day is get dressed- you may hate what I am wearing, you may find it comical, too young, too short, ugly, strange, shocking, weird
I dont care about that
it is not for you-it is for me
A guy I date showed up somewhere to surprise me and he said “hey you look nice and you did not even know you were going to see me”
“No offence, I said, ‘But I dress for me, not for you’
I come by it honestly- my mom is the same although we dress somewhat differently. Her idea of dressing down at the cottage is three inch heels and hosiery without  control top. She is a woman of style through and through.  She will stack wood and garden and clean this way. This is not me but I am darn impressed with it.
A few years ago she bought  two pairs of the exact same high heeled shoes – one pair  in yellow and one in hot pink. She wears these frequently- only one of each at a time. Now that is fun.
I would hate to live without this kind of fun
What about you? Do you love all the feminine bits of being a female or do you find it a pain in the butt?
Satin or sweats?

I have sweats…..BUT…you two will be impressed…I’m starting to embrace the feminine side. Today – I sit at my desk…in a shoulder exposing flashdancy sweater and yesterday I wore a dress. Oh yes I did. Who is this girl?

they are what I wore when I gained 15 beer and pizza soaked pounds in freshman year.

I often enjoy a more masculine edge when I get dressed, but it’s satin all the way, baby. I do so love me some baubles.
PS – what are these “sweats” you speak of? I have none of these. 😉
