My kids met and fell in love with our first official pet.
I can only believe that now is the right time based on the circumstances surrounding how our new pup came to us.
We weren’t expecting to welcome a dog into our home until the fall, but he came to us on the weekend and we couldn’t be happier with our new golden boy, but I will add how freaking tired I am! Crate training and house breaking are overwhelming me a little.
He is a 10 week old Ganaraskan, which is a breed I know you have never heard of before. I was drawn to this breed because of their therapeutic qualities.
You can find out more about these amazing dogs here.
Now please allow me to introduce you to our newest family member:
He’s been incredibly involved and willing to help (for now).
He’s done several peepee walks and has picked up a couple of poops already. He’s very eager to do things correctly and use the right words and right tone with training techniques.
Cuyler is still a little skittish around Teddy because he’s still in that unpredictable puppy phase. I think long term Teddy is going to be an incredible companion for him.
He’s pretty chill and loves being with people. He’s a cuddler and a snuggler.

Hello, we’d also like to add a Ganaraskan to our family, but can’t find any information online. I’d appreciate if you could share any breeder information. Thanks! jen.e.grant@gmail.com

we added a golden Ganaraskan boy to our family about 7 months ago, and i cannot imagine our life without him. we got him from Bernard Gil , as our friends recommended him. he was very helpful, answered all of our questions and provided plenty of information and even more.
if you are trying to contact him, keep persisting with the emails since there is a pretty big waiting line. we told him our friends were interested in getting a second ganaraskan, and he said that he is getting a lot of traffic since the breed is gaining so much attention, so to keep emailing him over and over would be your best bet for him to notice your request.

I would like to know where I can find a groomer who knows what a ganny should look like. Every groomer I’ve tried with Delilah thinks she’s a cockapoo!

Where did you get your Ganaraskan? I am looking to purchase one but having a hard time finding a breeder.

Technically a Ganny is a Cocka-poo-schauzer-bichon…. Many look like Cockapoos many look like Schnoodles they have no set standard on their appearance or coat type and because they are not technically a breed (they have not bred true for several generations yet) No groomer will actually know what the cut is ‘supposed to’ look like because it is not a standard cut that is taught in grooming school. If you want a specific look, bring a photo

So you’re a few months into the puppy thing – how is it going?
What kind of pup and did you crate train?
Christine says
We’re making A LOT of progress. These things sure learn faster than babies!!

That’s so funny Jen! Yes – take it as a sign!
I am on a facebook page with other Ganny owners and SOO many live in Toronto.
I actually found Teddy’s sister on that page.
So far he has been a joy. I will update next week 🙂
I was the same. Met a Ganaraskan and could’t stop thinking about it and researched and finally called Bernard…
If you are seriously considering a dog – you should seriously consider a Ganny.

Congrats! We just got a puppy a few months ago and although I’d never call myself a dog person (luv me my cats), our little guy has really grown on me. Looks like Teddy is a great addition to your lovely family!

Oh, ENJOY him!! Of course, it looks as though your kids already are… excellent, lady! Have a blast!! (And don’t worry about the training – just stick to the schedule even when it seems strident, and your pup will be housetrained in a really short time – you’ll see!)

I just met my first Ganaraskan puppy a couple of weeks ago and have been researching them ever since. I feel like this post is some kind of sign. I’ll be anxiously watching for your experiences.
Teddy is adorable…congratulations on the new addition!
