Another rainy day

July 24, 2009 by amreen

What summer is this!  I’m finding it hard to keep my spirits up when every day it feels more and more like November. Ugghhh.  My spirits are low, and my kids are cranky.  I’ve decided that the only strategy possible is to keep busy and to forge ahead with plans despite nature’s lack of cooperation.

On that note, we are off to a friend’s cottage this weekend.  The cottage life of Ontario holds much mystery for me. I’ve actually never been to a cottage in this province, and I’m quite looking forward to it.  I’ve been told that cottage etiquette requires I pack some yummy treats for the visit, so my task for this afternoon is to assemble a basket of goodies. I’m thinking of heading to All the Best Fine Foods on Yonge St. (Toronto) and picking up some of their delectable banana breads, brownies and scones.

Tonight, we’re having dinner at my cousin’s place, where her parents are visiting from India. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone and having a warm, family-fun evening.  Whatever you’ve planned, have a great weekend, and I’ll be back with some cottage pics on Monday. Cheers!

Have a great time, Amreen. I like your attitude – enjoy summer despite the weather!

The weather stinks! I am nervous about sending my son to camp for 2 weeks in the cold and rain. When will summer arrive?!
