This find was very timely because I’ve been worried about Sophie & Fiona’s twinness lately. They’ve been squabbling a lot, have become very competitive with one another and often say, “I don’t want a sister”, “I don’t like my sister”. Gina writes about parenting and twin parenting and what she says resonates with my beliefs and parenting ideal. I highly recommend this site to all parents.
This is a brand new find (thanks Hobo Mama). I loved it from the first post I read. Kelly has many qualities I admire and identify with. I love the post about unschooling. If you’ve read my blog for awhile you already know what I think and how I feel about unschooling, homeschooling and public education. Look under the education category in my blog to find more. Kelly’s personal blog is in many ways more readable and Underbellie is more academic in style. I love both.
This blog is by a teacher in Moose Jaw, AB. Shelly Wright is a courageous educator who took the leap into “Real World Learning”. She documents her journey changing her teaching style from mostly direct instruction to democratic project based learning. By that I mean that the students are decision makers in the classroom and they collectively create projects for learning (with her guidance).
This blog is by Danika Barker, an Ontario teacher whom I’ve had the pleasure of meeting at an OTF conference. Danika is also a courageous teacher who has made the leap to 21st Century Learning, meaning she uses collaboration, project based learning, technology and democratic principles in her classroom. If you link to her classroom blog you will get a taste of what being in her class is like: engaging, fun, inspiring….Check this out “Brevity is the Soul of (t)Wit” – An experiment combining Hamlet and Twitter! Wowzers!
Have a great Sunday and enjoy!
