As a mom to two children who live life to the fullest despite the challenges they face due to Autism I must say I have heard and read about many supposed things that will prevent, help, and even cure Autism. Special diets, not vaccinating your children, changing your own behavior as a parent and the list is endless, however this morning I was sent an email from my mother warning me of what seems to be the newest trend in curing autism. We are both absolutely disgusted and appalled.
This newest “cure” is nothing short of child abuse and torture, yet what makes it even more sick is that it is being committed by the child’s own parent, and what really breaks my heart is that there are thousands of autistic children who are non-verbal and low functioning so they cannot speak out for themselves, tell anyone about how this method is hurting them, or to even let out a feeble cry for help.
Oh.My.God!
The form of abuse that is being afflicted on these innocent children is called MMS (Miracle Mineral Solution) or in plain language that we all understand BLEACH. Yes that is correct. BLEACH!
A so called religious organization with “bishops” and other church officials are touting the effectiveness of MMS and promoting it. Conning desperate parents into believing it will help their child. Sick.
This so called treatment that I call abuse, calls for Bleach enemas every two hours for 72 hours, every possible weekend. It goes on to explain that in order to overcome the nausea barrier you must UP the dosage! Apparently, therapy that induces a fever, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea is a good thing – and by the way if you make a “baby bottle” out of it that seems to make it more innocuous – INSIDIOUS to me.
I understand that many parents of Autistic children have come to the end of their rope and are desperate for something to help their child, but really how can any parent not understand that this is harming their child not helping! I am surprised that a child has not been killed by this “therapy” yet.
Parents of Autistic children or any child with special needs know all too well how demanding and frustrating it can be. At times it can be overwhelming, but in my opinion the best thing we can do for our children is to embrace their strengths and to love them and accept them for who they are – innocent children who didn’t ask to have Autism or any other special needs, but are true gifts to us, their parents.
I urge you to read this article and help spread the word that this is not right!

This product has been banned in canada since 2010 and Health canada seems to be ontop of reducing its online sources as well.

I took my son off artificial color and artificial flavors and wow what a difference in behavior. He still has his days but they are shorter and less violent, and he seems to be able to concentrate and learn more effectively.Making it less frustrating for him. His communication has improved along with his language development. This has been the only thing we have changed, his therapy and education has all stayed the same.
That is disgusting. I am absolutely sick to my stomach reading this. Those parents and “bishops” should be thrown in jail for child abuse and those children should be removed from those homes and placed somewhere safe.
I have a child with autism and I would NEVER do anything so ludacris as that.
I’d like to give those people a dose of their own medicine!
