I would like to feature incredible, innovative educators on Wednesdays. I read a lot of teacher and principal blogs, and they rock! I don’t think too many parents read them though (except maybe the parents of the students). I read these blogs regularly and I follow hundreds of teachers and principals on Twitter, in fact, trading ideas with educators is about the only thing I use Twitter for.
I hope that some of you will take a few minutes to read some posts and see what magic is being woven out there in classrooms around Ontario, Canada and the world.
I’ll start with Heidi Siwak. She is a teacher in Dundas, Ontario. I had the great pleasure of meeting her in person this past summer at Unplug’d 2012. I wrote about unplug’d here.
Heidi is brilliant. She is innovative with her use of inquiry based learning and technology. She has won awards, contests and media recognition. Most importantly Heidi is a warm, authentic, caring person who inspires her class to learn for the pleasure or learning.
Please go and check out her blog here

Great feature. I forwarded the link to her blog to my cousin, who also teaches grades 6 & 7. She sounds like a wonderful teacher.
