I have been busier with work in the past two weeks than I have ever been in my life. It’s been wild, and hard, but good and I was coping alright until I found a lump on my middle daughter’s neck the size of a half-golfball.
That will make the world stand still for you.
I’ve taken her in to see the doctor and it’s a very swollen lymph node, so we’re trying a round of antibiotics to see if it responds to that. In the meantime, I am plagued by worries, thoughts of worst-case scenarios, and sleepless nights with desperate prayers.
My girl.
Life: so fleeting, so fragile and how quickly we forget. Swallowed up by to-do lists and phone calls and emails and chores and then BAM! All that matters comes boiling to the surface in a fury: my kids, my husband, our family and our health.
Nothing else.
If you do pray, can you for Karenna? And maybe me too.
Julie says
you’ve got my support!
Jen Wilson says
Oh, goodness. I hope it goes down!!
Kat Clarke Murray says
Amanda, my thoughts are with you and Karenna. Go, antibiotics! Shrink that node!
