Leading a passionate life answers Maslow’s highest need in the hierarchy-the need for self actualization because when you are passionate about what you are doing you are putting your unique whole self out there in all its glory. I call it ‘feeling alive’.
To help you arrive at this level of passion in you life, you can think about the following questions
1. What do you love about yourself?
2.What do you find easy?
3.What are you happiest doing?
4. What would you do for free?
5. What do you like to talk about?
6. What would you regret not having tried?
7.How can you make the world a better place?
8. What do people come to you for?
9. When and how do you feel most alive?
Whenever you are faced with a decision, choice or opportunity choose in favour of your passion. Forget about what you should do, what your mom would be proud of, what looks good or even what makes sense. Follow your instinct. It won’t let you down.
The amazing feature about passion is that it is contagious- the more you have it the more it multiplies in you. The more you have it the more passionate people are drawn to you.
“Chase down your passion like its the last bus of the night” (oh I love that sweaty breathless image)

I’m lucky enough to be doing something I love. I love stories and songs and books and sharing them with others. I just did a series of booktalks that we call “Tea & Books” and one of the ladies came up to me at the end and said, “You’re very enthusiastic!” Uh, yes, yes I am!
Nancy says
amreen! oh poassionate one! I miss you!
Amreen says
Thank you Nancy. I’m going to give this some serious thought…it’s always to good to remind oneself of what REALLY makes us happy and fulfilled as opposed to just going through the motions.
Nancy says
Nancy- if you feel comfortable I would love to hear about your passion. It is always as unique as we are.

All this is so true. I have recently started following my passion. I find that the days that I let myself get taken up with the passion, I’m fine. The days that I fight the passion in favour of what makes sense or what is expected of me, I end up feeling quite low and incapable of positive thought. Great post…and great point about chasing the last bus of the night!
