“There’s six feet of snow on the lawn and it’s minus 25 degrees with the windchill!” my mom choked out yesterday. She lives in Saskatchewan. Poor bunny.
This morning’s Facebook posts were riddled with photos of a snow storm that hit Ontario. A snow day, in April?! That’s not OK.
Right now, in beautiful BC, it’s been mild and spring-ish but pretty rainy. I’ll take it over snow any day.
I know for me, it’s crazy how much the weather affects my mood and motivation, so for all of you out there who are waist-high in a snowbank, cursing the chill and taking the kids’ mittens out of storage one day after you packed them up, I offer a little pick-me-up:
Leave a comment here on this post and I will pick a winner at random to win a $20 gift card to Starbucks. If you can’t get Vitamin D, caffeine is the next best thing, right?
You can get a hot chocolate to warm your frigid hands, or a latte to warm your frozen soul. This isn’t a sponsored post; just me, digging into my piggy bank to spread some cheer on this chilly Thursday morning across the frozen tundra of Canada.
Leave a comment below and I’ll pick the winner on Monday morning.
Good luck!
I can’t wait for spring to arrive ….would love to win as I love coffee!
something nice and hot from Starbucks would be very appreciated at this time of year when my fingers feel frozen when I have to touch the car’s steering wheel, then slip across the driveway up to the front door thanks!

Starbucks is awesome I love the peppermint mocha’s π
I always love starbucks!! With friends or on my own. I usually get a tall dark coffee and I get a free coffee refill as my card is registered!!
cloudy in the GTA today and we’re expecting more rain this week, ugh!

I am so happy when I see the sunshine- if only it would stay.
Finally getting some sunshine after raining for the last 3 days. Thanks for the giveaway!
I could use some coffee!
the snow is finally starting to disappear still need Hot chocolate
Coffee gets me going in the morning, in any season.
Still chilly, but I thought I would make the best of it and take my bike out for the first time this year.
it seems like winter just won’t end. I know the calander says ‘spring’ but like you I take a look outside and I don’t see it happening. I’ve planted some tulips inside in pots just to cheer my household up!
spent the past 5 months in the Okanagan…the cherry trees were blossoming and people were laying on the beach in their bathing suits when we had to leave to come back home to wintery northern Manitoba….WAH!!
I know several people who want to put a bounty on Wiarton Willy – early Spring my butt.
I’m glad the power is back on – mine was off for 12 hours and my house was getting very chilly
Would love for it warm up enough to sit on the deck with Starbucks hot chocolate !
Spring can’t come soon enough. This last ice-storm and power outage in Ontario has left me with a flooded basement!
I’ve given up on spring- I just want summer!
I love Starbucks! Their coffee and hot chocolate and specialty teas are awesome! I can’t wait for spring to finally arrive.
Spring is trying – trying – to come to the Toronto area but most days it doesn’t feel like it’s winning. A hot drink is still a welcome treat!!!
Well I can think of nothing better than sitting in my home with a Starbucks . While outside the ice covered tree are crashing all over my neighbourhood . Summer can’t come soon enough .
SO cold today…a nice hot chocolate from Starbucks would sure hit the spot!
I am hoping these April showers mean the start of spring and May flowers are coming sooner rather than later.
I live in Northern Ontario and we got a few inches of snow yesterday π
But, that wouldn’t stop me having a Mocha Frappucino if I won the gift card.
I love coffee and starbucks! Thanks for the giveaway!
it’s true, I live 6 months of the year waiting for the other 6. How sad is that?!
And look at you, sweet lady, spreading a little cheer. How lovely!
I expect the snow to go away by July. Until then, I have no set weather expectations. π
Sooo cold for April! Could use a hot mocha π
I hope to win
The rain has just started where we are and I am hoping for some sunshine and warm weather.
Thanks for the giveaway!
mmmm i’d love to win!
good luck everyone!
I like the hot chocolate!
Love coffee!!
still feels like winter
Feels like February here with all the snow !
Too much snow in Regina!
Great prize! Even though I can’t do any gardening yet, I am doing some planning. I am deciding which plants to move, which new ones to buy… I look out the window and imagine…
Grey sky and still lots of snow on the ground in Winnipeg, Starbucks would certainly brighten my days!
It’s great to see the spring flowers all in bloom here on the Lower Mainland. Starbucks card would be great..could even sit outside and enjoy our lattes.
Thanks
I’m a former Manitoban who is looking at the snow on her patio furniture in Toronto…where I should be sitting with a Starbucks, but my bum would get wet!
If I get a Skinny Latte will I be able to fit into some Skinny Jeans? Don’t think so but love my Starbucks Lattes!
Finally sunny here in Calgary, although chilly. However, up to 15 cm of snow is coming over the weekend. Looking forward to Starbucks on the patio soon instead of curled up inside with a book.
I love Startbucks! And strangely, I actually love their hot chocolate! It was freezing cold this morning with rain and very windy and I just bought one on my way to work to warm up myself!
I love my SB coffee!!!!
Caffeine is my lifeline – the Starbucks variety an extra treat!
I am so not ready for more snow and ice.
And I was complaining about 8 inches of snow on March 25! Caffeine is not the crutch it used to be for me, but I still like to start the day with tea!
A good jolt of caffeine gets me through most things, so bring it on.
Nope, I tried caffeine and I get the shakes and headaches, and feel like I’m going to pass out.
Poor robins, they’re glumly huddled in the tree. I’m glumly huddled in the house. Spring, where are you?
I’ve had enough of winter. My newly emerged garden crocuses are covered in snow today.
Outside there’s nothing but frozen dirt and garbage. Listening to the six o’clock news telling us to expect 10 to 15 cm of snow this weekend. At least it’ll make everything white again for a day or two. Sitting in warm Starbucks, cafe latte and 2 muffins, reading the day’s news and watching the snow fall outside = great Saturday morning.
Snow, rain or sleet; it doesn’t matter because we still live in Canada. The best country in the world!
Oddly, here in Alberta it snowed that wet, thick almost rain-snow most of the day then suddenly it turned to rain and boom, most of the snow was gone. Still grey and yucky out, though. Come on sunshine!!
I’d say Starbucks is a pick-me-up whether it’s cold or rainy & windy as it has been here on the ‘wet’ coast.
There’s freezing rain outside now and it’s discouraging! I need spring to show up some day soon.
the cold affects my mood as well- coffee would be great!
Coffee it’s the best solution for me to beat the cold weather blues.
“Pick me up” is definitely what I could use to battle away the winter blahs!
Coffee is my best friend every morning! π
Coffee = Good
Ice Coffee = Good
Ice = Bad
So why is it ice pelleting today ?
It’s been pretty A-OK down here in the Valley, but who am I to turn down Starbucks?!
Hey, we have enough new snow to shovel again today. Spring has not arrived in Saskatoon yet, there is a strong requirement for hot chocolate to warm up! Thanks
I’m one of the poor Saskatchewan people – Starbucks would make the 6 feet snowbanks less sucky π
Oh fun, coffee! I know a few people I could share that with. π
oooooohhhh coffeecoffeecoffeecoffeecoffeeeeee…. π
I love Starbucks and am sick of the snow and cold. This prize is MINE.
We’re expecting 15-20 cm tomorrow. I died a little on the inside upon hearing this news. Le sigh.
How sweet you are with your treats, lady! Wow!!
I’m right there with your mom. Six feet of snow and -25 temperatures AND IT SNOWED MORE OVERNIGHT AND I WANT TO MOVE NOW.
Thanks for being so generous!
