The Selfie Deconstructed

January 30, 2014 by Sonya Leave a Comment

This short 7-minute film debuted at the Sundance Film Festival and encourages us to consider how social media has shaped our perception of beauty.

It follows mothers and daughters who are asked to take selfies. And then discuss how they view themselves.

What hit home for me? When a teenage girl said this…

“I think my mom’s insecurities effect me a lot. When you hear her talk about her own insecurities, you start to focus on your own.”
