My skin drives me crazy. I’ve never been blessed with flawless skin (I hate you if you do!..kidding!) or the porcelain skin of some of my Asian friends. I’m slightly darker and I’m definitely blotchy-er. Is that a word? I’ve always had combination skin and have always changed products with the seasons. I know I’m not the only one.
I’ve tried various products from over the counter drug store stuff to the high end micro-batch companies over the years and everything in between or what my wallet allows.
Recently I asked if I would try a few products from ELIZABETH GRANT SKIN CARE – a Canadian company with products available online.
This caught my attention…
ELIZABETH GRANT SKIN CARE – ORGANIC CONCENTRATE ($69.99/45ml) is the company’s first creation to contain 95% all natural, organic ingredients. It contains natural extracts from the dormant bulb of the Narcissus Flower. It is combined with organic tea nutrients and precious oils from the desert to help repair and rejuvenate skin cells and help to smooth and correct the signs of aging. It contains Rare Moroccan Argon Oil and Torricelumn, Elizabeth Grant Skin Care‘s signature moisturizing compound, which encourages continuous hydration of the skin. Algae extracts included in the concentrate soothes the skin, helping to maintain the skin’s natural and radiant tone.
What they told me: The benefits of some of the ingredients for the consumer (of 35+ years) is the concentrate is highly moisturizing and extremely nourishing with the use of natural ingredients. Moisturizing at any age is vitally important, however at 35+ even more so. The Organic Concentrate helps to repair damaged skin and maintains skin that is hydrated, softer, smoother and younger looking. The texture, tone and appearance of an aging skin is improved because your skin receives a large burst of nutrients in one quick application.
How to apply: after cleansing with their Wonder Effect Triple Action Cleanser ($21.99/200 ml) I applied the Organic Concentrate directly to clean skin. Not too much is needed so the bottle will last you a while. Then I apply my moisturizer on top.
The Verdict: I’m interested in minimizing the chemicals I use – after all, what goes ON your body gets absorbed right? Within 5 days of usage, I noticed a difference in my skin. I’m not kidding! My skin felt smoother in texture and more radiant. I’ve also noticed that the blotchy redness has faded. I’ve been using the product for 3 weeks now and have noticed a difference.

I have combination skin, too, and the only product line I ever found that addressed it in a way that worked for me (and quite naturally) is Origins, so I’ve been devoted to their products for years now. My skin still has an adjustment period when the season changes, and I do change the moisturizer I use accordingly, too, to something a little heavier.

Man, I love a good moisturizer, but I’m the type to stick with a brand or product until they stop making it (I HATE when that happens) because I’m happy yo keep using something that a) works well, b) I can afford, and c) don’t smell like ass. But if you like this one then I am intrigued…
