Ever wanted to look like a celebrity? With TIFF happening in Toronto this week, star gazers have had a lot of opportunities to catch glimpses of their favourite A-listers. Our friends at AVEENO have given us a little insight into how those stars get their looks.
Celebrity makeup artist Angela Levin worked with Jennifer Aniston to get her red carpet ready for the premiere of CAKE yesterday. Aniston’s look in CAKE is decidedly unglamourous, with most of her screen time spent looking makeup-free. For the premiere, Aniston wanted a natural, fresh and sun-kissed look, and Levin obliged.
She dished her secrets to us, and we’re sharing them with you.
“I started by prepping Jen’s skin with Aveeno Positively Radiant Skin Brightening Daily Scrub,” says Levin. This product is very gentle and leaves the skin clean and fresh and a perfect canvas for makeup application.
The next step was Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer SPF 15 on face and neck (great tip!). “Jen loves this moisturizer – it feels light on the skin and is very effective in keeping it hydrated and toned throughout the day.” Toronto weather has been hot and it’s been cold during TIFF, but overall it’s been sunny, so a product with SPF 15 is important, even in the great white north.
“I then applied a light coat of foundation by Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet, in two colours.” Levin’s tip is to apply a lighter shade in the eye, lip and cheek sectoin to make that area appear brighter.
Aniston has such a healthy, beachy glow, so it’s no surprise that her makeup artis used a bronzer (Chanel Les Beiges in N50) with a brush. This bronzer is matte, and can be built up with the application.
“For her cheeks, I mixed CHANEL Cream Blush in Chamade with Make Up Forever Cream Blush 335.” In this case Levin applied using her fingers, creating a sun kissed natural look.
To make Aniston’s blue eyes pop, used a combination of Revlon Eye Shadow Chocolate and Melon and Edward Bess Prismette Eye Shadow Quad in Cosmic Bliss. “They are all rich warm colors that really bring out Jen’s gorgeous blue eyes. I always finish the eyes with the one and only inimitable intense CHANEL mascara in black – no eye liner was used for this look.”
Aniston’s fresh face would work as well for your next Girls Night Out as it did for a TIFF premiere, and all of these products are available in department and drugstores across Canada.
