I get this question a fair bit. My answer is always the same- ‘if I waited until I was really ready I would never do anything. I am as ready as I need to be”
(where I love to run)
On Sunday I am running in the Sporting Life/Camp Oochigeas 10km. I am excited about it. 2 years ago I hated running and wanted to break for coffee after 5 minutes. Now I can run.
It is a gift on a few levels
– I feel great
– I am energized and stronger
-my clothes dont ‘bite’ me the way they used to
– my children see what I can do when I set my head to it (they are running now too!)
-I have given myself the gift of the ‘re invent’ – I can now say I am a runner along with other new and old adjectives, adverbs and nouns that describe me
Perhaps the most exciting thing is that I am doing something for someone else. Me and my little run- we are sending a child with cancer to camp for a week. I have raised enough and I am doing that! That feels brilliant. Just beautiful. It is a birthday present to myself.
I am ready.
If you would like to donate please consider doing so, maybe that beautiful, brave creature can go for two weeks? Click here and help make it happen. You will feel the love.

when you say “small hill” you really separate the girls from the marathoners! And I know which one you are! Enjoy A – hope to see you Sunday. Happy Mother’s day too! xx

See you there! It is an awesome run– you get a great perspective on the sea of runners are you go up the small hill near St. Clair.
