Try a Little Tenderness

May 19, 2011 by Tracey

I’m feeling particularly thankful about everything in my life today, and just this morning, this video came to me… I hope you’ll watch. (It’s less than three minutes long.)

The world needs more kind, tender, inspiring people like this man.
Be kind.  Pass it on!!

Don’t you wish you could meet him and give him a big hug? What a beautiful person. I love the “mental nutrition” wording. Like you say, we can’t all quit our jobs and start feeding the hungry, but it costs nothing to be kind.

It was literally feeding the people that made me cry too, Laura. Le sigh. If we could all give 5% of what this man gives, imagine what the world could possibly be like…
And did you say PREGNANT?! Wooo-hooo!! Congratulations!! I hope you feel well!!

You’re so right, lady – giving service in a lifetime is what makes life worth living, I reckon.
And I live to make you cry at work… heh. 😉

Oh my…I have seen this video before, but now I am pregnant and I am sitting here weeping…he not only provides the food, but literally feeds the people. I hope someday I can give 5% of what this man gives.

    1. you made me cry at work, and for that i must say you suck.
    2. reminds me of something i read years ago and never forgot: “Service is the rent we pay for living” (or similar). Basically you have to give back.
    3. I’m glad he pointed out mental nutrition – i’d call it dignity – is as important as food in the long term.

It even makes a Grumbler like me smile on the inside… shucks.

I’m always amazed by people who can care so very much… it heart-warming. 🙂

He really is an angel… we can’t all just quit our jobs and take care of the homeless and the forgotten, but maybe we can all be just a little bit kinder every day, you know? Amazing.
