Will has been gone for almost a week now. It’s killing me. I miss him more than I thought…and I thought I would miss him a ton. I’ll be hugging him in about 24 hours.
But I am trying to enjoy our time apart. What I notice the most is TIME. My god, I have so much time on my hands. It’s something I never noticed before I had him. It’s decadent to be on your own schedule and not racing here and there. Frankly, it’s bizarre. On Monday, I was at my desk at 5:30p and realized…’what the hell – it’s 5:30! Go home!’
Today I woke up to a beautiful morning. It was early. So I decided to take my time biking to work instead of racing against my own personal best (yes I’m that kind of loser) and stop and check out all the amazing things that I race by on a daily basis. It only took me an extra 20 minutes and it was awesome.
So enjoy my little slide show of Toronto. And slow down today and enjoy your own beautiful city. Or if you have kids, HURRY UP!
- My starting view
- random lion guarding a smallish house on the Lakeshore
- Park by my house – Met an old man who used to play there as a kid. Same sign minus the no smoking sticker
- everyday I imagine buying this house…
- this has come from nowhere – didn’t exist when I first moved in 10 years ago.
- always wonder if it’s a beaver dam.
- start of the Habitat – gorgeous
- I JUST noticed these this week – all part of butterfly conservatory
- Some times there are 100s of these rock formations – today not too many, but one handpainted!
- 1/3 of the way to work
- I see women doing yoga here every am – Had no idea it was a memorial.
- Everyday I drive by Casimir park and I think of a. my friend Buddy (aka Cas the 15th or something) and then I sing Kashmir by Zeppelin in my head…
- Many a wedding shot staged here – today, it was a locked door.
- saw the tents being erected – and here’s what it is!
- who knew! Not me!
- Memories of a fun Sony party here years ago. A hidden treasure in the city.
- what a way to start the day.
- This is 2/3 through my ride and may look like a parking lot. But it was the finish to the Ride to Conquer Cancer. So much more meaningful now.
- beautiful stone sculpture – with no plaque explaining it… interesting.
- such a beautiful building!
- it’s incredible how far you can go!
- It’s not all grass and water
- pass this sign all the time…it would be awesome….
- who knew you could eat the fish from the harbour?
- grad cruise in June of 1988…memories are still pretty clear!
- My parents and I lived here when we first moved to TO. There were NO other condos on Queens Quay. Seen it lately?
- and arrival at Sugar Beach! Yes. I work here. Don’t hate me.
