Carver Cam

October 31, 2012 by Christine

We carved our pumpkins last night. Well…I didn’t.
While I wish I could rock my orbs the way Grumble does, I’m pretty happy with our lil punkin this year.
Last year after all three kids jumped ship on me I swore we were only going to have one pumpkin that I was simply going to drill holes into. That was my plan, until something magical happened: Cam asked me if he could carve the pumpkin.
Hell to the yes!
I handed him a sharpie and kid-carver and told him to have at it,

He asked if I would open it up for him and I obliged. Thanks to the magic of social media I found a new way to open up the pumpkin. Why didn’t I think of this before??
pumpkinback.jpgIt made cleaning out the cavity a breeze and I didn’t have guck up to my elbow.

Once the insides were out. My job was done. Cam had his pumpkin carver and got to work.

lightpumpkin.JPGI was grateful for his help and appreciated the fact that he wanted to participate this year. I think he did a splendid job!

I’m hoping this is a new tradition for us. Heck, next year I might get 2 pumpkins for him.
Who carves at your house?
Stay safe and warm tonight!
Happy Halloween from the Statue of Liberty!
