Designed with Love & Win a Kobo Arc!

It’s so inspiring to see the up-and-coming designers take centre stage at major events. This year, THE COLLECTIONS supported seven emerging designers during World MasterCard Fashion Week in Toronto. Designers included Chloe comme Parris, Sid Neigum, Thomas Balint, Laura Seigel, Klaxon Howl  and new comers LACERDA and Matthew Gallagher.  What was really cool this year was how the KOBO ARC was incorporated into the design process proving that technology and creativity does go hand-in-hand.

With design in mind, each designer used the KOBO ARC 7″ Google certified tablet to draw inspiration in creating and managing their looks leading into their fashion shows. It comes to no surprise since this tablet is more than just an eReader and has consistently been recognized as one of the best on the market today.
The designers used the KOBO ARC devices to pin sketches, videos,pictures, websites and other items of inspiration to Kobo Tapestries, which created connections and gives the use the freedom to organize the content how they choose. I’m not surprised to also learn that Kobo has won award for its innovation in design and has been recognized by organizations like the French Institute of Design and IDSA (Industrial Designers Society of America)

    Honestly, I’m not too familiar with fashion as I’m mostly a jeans and t-shirt kind of gal, but I do really like the clothing at Joe Fresh so I’ll jump on the Joseph Mimran band wagon.

    Alfred Sung. Although he wasn’t born here, he is still considered a Canadian fashion designer.

    I’ve got to say Joseph Mimran. I’m pretty sure I own more of his pieces than any other Canadian designer 🙂
