Waaaayyyy back during the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in September I had visited a few “gifting lounges” to the stars. You know, where the celebrities get invited (or have hand-delivered to their hotel rooms), products and services from various companies. It’s nice to see Canadian products get some love at this major international events.
I’ve been working my way through the products. If there’s one thing you should know about me is that I don’t accept every goody offered to me. But I do accept the ones that I am personally curious about OR that I think our readers may be interested in. PEPTALASH by Indeed Labs (the creators of the highly loved nanoblur beauty product), was offered to me and I grabbed it fast graciously accepted. If you’ve ever seen me in person you know that I was the one who was holding the door when the beauty gods gave out beautiful long eyelashes! So, this was definitely of personal interest.
I’ve had falsies put in for photoshoots which are fine for about a day. But they either fall out or I’ve yanked them out. I don’t like the feel of something near my eyes (I will never ever wear contacts). But PEPTALASH caught my attention.
What is it:
According to the packaging, it is an advanced combination of 3 clinically-proven peptides that word synergistically to make eyelashes appear longer, thicker and fuller (based on at least three in-vivo clinical studies on active peptides involving 45 female volunteers and on in-vitro study of active peptide measuring keratin gene stimulation.
How to apply:
Clear liquid is applied with a very thin tiny brush to the base of the eyelashes each day – morning and night.
The claim:
With PEPTALASH, you can have clinically-proven results in as little as 2 weeks with a first ever combination of 3 peptides that enhance lash appearance through 3 different mechanisms, at a small fraction of the cost of leading alternative medical and cosmetic treatments. The trials showed that you can increase your lash length by as much as 43% and lash diameter by as much as 40%, meaning almost 3 times the volume, naturally.
The Verdict:
I was skeptical yet hopeful. Reality is that I didn’t expect much to happen. The product is easy enough to apply and other than my husband saying “what are you doing?” it became part of my daily routine for a month. Did it make my eyelashes appear longer? I’m not really sure. Maybe? But I believe that PEPTALASH made my eyelashes stronger. Without the product I usually find I lose a few lashes everyday just from rubbing. DRAG. But after a week of using this product, I noticed that I may just lose one if any. I think that if I’m not losing them as frequently then I they must be getting stronger therefore appear fuller as well.
After a month, I stopped using PEPTALASH to see what would happen. Yes, I’m your guinea pig. And within a week my lashes started falling out at the same pace as it did prior to using this.
So…I’m back using it again because although length wasn’t apparent on me, the stronger and fuller was. At this price point ($19.99 last time I checked) it is worth me applying it to have mascara-like defined lashes.
