I think I mentioned before how I’m not entirely in the mood for Christmas this year, and all the shenanigans that go with, but when you’ve got little kids, you still have to make an effort to make the holidays enjoyable in all the festive ways.
When I finally got set to break out all the Christmas accoutrements from aaaaaaaall the way down in the basement, I must say, my eyes lit up when I first caught a first of all my shiny, glorious balls. (I’m trying so hard not to laugh every time I type the word “balls” and you should know, it’s not working at all. *snort*) I knew I’d enjoy seeing them again after I stowed them away so lovingly last year… I did get three boxes of the Whitmor ornament containers after all, and they turned out to be reasonably good. Opening the boxes was tres wow this year – their splendor totally made me want to whip ’em out. *snicker* (I promise to show you how I stash them after the holidays – and yes, they are arranged by colour. Puuuuurrrrr…)
So I done decked the halls and whatnot – enjoy the vignettes:
I figure, even the bathroom can use a bit of sparkle.
Our tree is a little smaller than we’ve had in the past – and I’m not in the mood for hot-holiday decor like last year… and we have yet to make another tree in the woods over the holidays. I reckon I’ll just go with lots of white lights and stockings while we’re there. It’s enough, yo. I’m already exhausted.
I hope everyone is enjoying the merriment of the season and such… enjoy your balls, folks! div>

Oh, my kids aren’t *that* small anymore… and anyway, the tree is in my bedroom, so they’re not around it much, forever crashing into it with all their horse-play. I scream, “No horsing around in here, you two!!” Works like a charm.

… I like ’em big… 😉

How on earth do you manage that with small children around? My tree is looking barren from about 3ft down.

and size does so not matter – they’re all glorious.
