Over the last week, due to a few parties I had, weekend guests and gifts from people, I have amassed an abundance of flowers at my house.
I have yellow tulips, mini daffs, pink hydrangea, hot pink cyclamen, orange gerbers, cherry blossoms
EVERYWHERE I look I see flowers.
It makes me wonder why I don’t buy them always. When you have them they feel as critical to your household as heat and light.
Do you make sure you always have fresh flowers? And if so what is your flower of choice?
Or do you think it is a huge waste of money?
Me too…love them…although I kill them SO quickly. I can’t wait for my lilac trees to come in!
ok Sue- hate to say it but you know I have a theory on second husbands and how they always bring flowers as they learned the first time that it might be a great idea! xx
Always! My favorite flowers are daffodils – mostly because they are yellow which is my favorite happy colour! I also love tulips- any colour like Tracey. I’m lucky because my husband brings me some ever week – roses in the winter- and if I see some and pick them up, he is sad that he didn’t buy them for me! We both enjoy them and there can never be enough. They just make the house even happier.
big gerbera daisy fan here. and freesia, too. you can’t beat that fragrance!
yes Katya! I have a beautiful candle beside my bed and before I open my eyes I can smell it – it starts the day off right!
flowers for no good reason are the greatest! I know both your sisters now Jen and they are amazing so this is not surprising!
oh yes tulips. The very best xx
I’ve recently started buying fresh flowers for my home and I love having them around. I mostly buy for my bedside table. Love waking up to the smell of fresh flowers in the morning!
…”wish” I would indulge… (sheesh!)
I love having fresh flowers in my house. My sister is the absolute best at buying me gorgeous bouquets (often for no reason), but I’m happy to buy them for myself, too. At this time of year I love freesias…their smell is such a promise of Spring to me!
Never a waste of money – and I do with I would indulge more often. My favourites are tulips – masses of them in the same colour (per vase) and I don’t even care what colour, really. When they’re inexpensive, like $8/bunch, I tend to buy them every week for a little while – it just gets absorbed into the grocery bill, and I love it – makes the house feel so cheerful and beautiful and special. I also love orchid plants SO much, but they often cost a heap. (Kinda.)
I’m so glad you’re surrounded by a riot of colour and flowers, Village!! You deserve it. We all do! 🙂
