Sometime this week, in between bouts of sweating and faint-y feelings, with a break in fever, I slipped a few shelves and drawers into my shiny new closet system…
As I wander about the house, sneezing and stuff, I sometimes just come and stand in front of the open door. Because it pleases me. In a house that currently feels mayhem-ish, it’s one tiny corner of tidy. And you know how much I dig tidy, right?
A linen closet. A LINEN CLOSET! In my house!! It’s my first, and I’m punch-drunk pleased about it. (Because I can fold like a muther, yo…)
I tell you, it’s the little things that make this Grumble Girl happy. 🙂

I’m going to take a picture of my linen closet tonight for you – aka stash closet – yours is making me very jealous!

Thanks DesiValentine! I love white sheets. And our house is super-ancient – what you can’t see in the pic is the bottom of those closets near the floor… they have so many shims underneath keeping them aligned, they appear to be floating. No joke. The floors, walls, door jams, etc. are all so crooked in this house, it’s comical. It’s all about the shims, I tell you. 🙂

Makes me feel good to have the stuff behind closed doors all squared away too – I get it. I have a real mess in the basement, and I cringe just thinking about it… but I’ll get to it after the holidays. I guess.
Tracey says
I will, Jen – I promise! Linens are the things to fold because they’re square! For pillowcases, I like to start in thirds lengthwise… maybe I should do a post about that sometime. (Lord, I’m such a nerd.)

I would have to agree, Lisa. Glorious with a capital “G.” Swoooooon!!

It’s beautiful! I love clean white everything, all folded neatly and tucked away like books on a shelf. And also closet systems. My ancient house makes those things impossible (at least until we’re ready for the wrecking ball), but, oh, how I covet!

this would make my great grandmother proud! the things that bother me are the things behind the doors. my house is a sty but the stuff behind all the doors (that no one can see) is spotless.

I demand that you come teach me how to fold linens. For the life of me I cannot fold sheets neatly, fitted OR flat.

This is glorious.
