The Pumpkins.

November 1, 2011 by Tracey

I don’t know what the culprit was, but I had some lousy pumpkins this year. Some were soft, which make intricate cutting impossible. I broke about 5 pumpkins this year, which can really almost make a lady cry, after spending 50 minutes cutting a face, only to have a large chunk of it break off… *sniff* Dry up! There’s no crying in extreme pumpkining!!

So, I’ll just give you a view of what I carved this year.  I’m a little sad that in the end, we only had one pumpkin for our stoop. Okay, it was actually two… but Kermit was just a practice one, since the pumpkin was mouldy when I first cut into it, but I’m AMAZED that he lasted so long – I cut him five days before Halloween! Most of them went to the W Hotel again this year.

Okay, here we go:

So there you have it. If you’re interested, here’s a look at last year’s orbs. And yes, I’m totally exhausted. I’ll take a manicure now, please…
I hope everyone had a blast rocking All Hallow’s Eve last night!!
PS – Jack-o-lanterns are very difficult to photograph… they were all so much better in person.

I like the girlie skull too – took her to a party for the 7 year old birthday girl. She took about 7 minutes to carve…
I know the weird “membrane” stuff you’re talking about – I almost always get that all over my hands whenever I prepare any kind of squash. What IS that stuff?! Weird. And it doesn’t wash off very readily… gah!

So awesome! My kids drew our pumpkin faces this year, mostly because I have no skills. You rock, lady!
