Um, wow.
It pretty much never happens but you guys have rendered me nearly speechless with your outpouring of support and encouragement on my last post. It’s always kind of nerve-racking when you sit down at the computer and prepare to open up about what is pretty much your most shameful “secret” (of course, being fat is never really a secret – it’s pretty obvious to anyone who claps eyes on you). But to find every comment – every last comment – so positive and so encouraging? Well, this probably isn’t news to you but it’s kinda unheard-of on the internet.
So from me to you: a resounding THANK YOU! This is probably the number one reason I love this community so much. The support. The respect. The kindness. You guys rock.
But anyways, on to the other reason for this post…I just finished my first official day on the new Weight Watchers 360˚ Program. So that’s one down, the rest of my life to go! And it wasn’t bad at all. I love the accountability of tracking my food. It really helps keep me aware of those 200 food-related decisions I mentioned in last week’s post. This is one of the tools that really helped me the most in the past. You learn to eat when you’re really hungry, you learn to make healthier choices, you finally feel in control.
And this time around, I don’t even have to carry my paper tracking booklet everywhere with me, because Weight Watchers has these really cool e-tools, including a mobile app, with a tracker and points calculator built right in.
Check it out!
Yes, it does say “Starubucks” there…but it was a skinny latte and within my daily points allowance, so it’s all good 🙂

Thanks everyone for the support. It means so much to me to know you’re behind me!
I need to point out though, that the app I refer to above isn’t a stand-alone. You need to already be a member of Weight Watchers to get it. If you attend meetings you can then purchase the e-tools as described above (they also have a free trial period). Members of Weight Watchers Online also have access to the e-tools as part of their membership.

I have followed your blog since almost day one & have ridden this roller coaster along side you for most of it. I did WW back in the day, lost 20+lbs…gained some, lost some through the last 10 years too. I have had this app for awhile & LOVE it! Until now I have used it mostly for my own amusement (& dismay) to keep my weight (too much) steady. After one week back on more serious terms, I am down 2.5 lbs – yay me! You will do amazing & I will continue to follow your journey!

it’s nice to see that WW is realizing that people are human and have cravings and wants. people that i know that have dieted are always on about what they can’t have (really, it’s what we _shouldn’t_ have!) but forget about what they _can_ have. from what i know of WW they realize this and add the treats and things to help people realize they can have (most of) it all. good luck with all of this. healthy times ahead! 🙂

Hooray! I have been 5 days and all is going well but I am off to the movies tonight and I LOVE the popcorn. I am going to see if I can save enough points to indulge in a small.
Keep it up sistah!
