I am a prairie girl at heart: I walked backwards to school so the bone-chilling winter winds wouldn’t freeze my face; I had indoor recesses when the temperature dropped to an inhumane low; I hated winter and viewed it a season to be endured rather than enjoyed.
Then I scored a BC boy and the winters here are so different. As a family we have been venturing into life on the ski hill and we’re loving it! I am a real beginner on the slopes, but it’s OK because the kids are just learning too so we can tumble down the bunny hill together.
Winter still isn’t my favorite, but when it’s filled with skating, skiing, tubing, time at the cabin and Bailey’s by the fire, it’s pretty swell.

Will asked for ski lessons…so we’re going…well HE is going! Good for you!

Lemonade from lemons 🙂 I learned to ski when I met my husband and although I don’t love it like he and my kids do, a sunny day on the ski hills is better than months of hibernation.

The girls have indoor recess if the temperature (with wind chill) is lower than -25. They’ve had many indoor recesses this year. I love the prairies as well, but I’m getting REALLY SICK of snot-freezing coldness. So glad you’re able to enjoy it in the milder climate. 🙂
