From My Closet – October 16th, 2013

So, I had this function to attend Saturday night, and I’d been fretting about what to wear for weeks before it’s arrival, partly because I’m trying not to shop since we’re buying BRICKS just now, but also because I kept running into this lady-friend of mine (normally I never do, but lately I see her every other day) who would also be in attendance, and good lord, but she is the most stunning woman I’ve ever seen in person – she makes grown men weep, and if I didn’t like her so much, I’d have a voodoo doll under my bed with her face on it. (I’m just kidding – I’m not a hater like that, I swear – but the woman is blindingly beautiful, and whenever I run into her, I can’t help but feel like a scrub. *shrugs* It’s just like that sometimes.)

She made me promise we’d dance together that night…

I decided I’d wear head-to-toe black (because let’s face it – black is beautiful, and it’s my favourite) but oh, how I longed for a new shoe… something kinda hot and delicious looking. And not so pricey as to induce suicidal regrets.

Behold: mauve patent leather mary janes who are a little too high for dancing in, but I made them my bitch anyway, because a girl’s gotta dance.

We’re taking it slow, because I have some other loves in my midst, but they’re hanging out in this fall’s tricked out coat closet, so they can make friends with all the other girls. They stepped out with the little velvet clutch with the oval adornment for the party, and became fast friends…
