I had an opportunity this week to get a sneak peek at the upcoming Great Canadian Cheese Festival being held in Prince Edward County, Ontario. While I have always prided myself on my great love of cheese (and the obligatory glass of wine that accompanies it), it’s not often that I get to taste five Canadian Cheese Grand Prix winners at one sitting. It was deliciously overwhelming.
The festival boasts a full weekend of cheesy delights, with over 100 cheeses from across Canada. Because events are planned for the most amateur cheese fan to the most seasoned connoisseur, the festival will clearly become an annual favourite among young and old alike.
The festival is taking place June 4-5, 2011 at the Crystal Palace in Prince Edward County. Tickets can only be purchased online in advance. I’d also like to treat one of you to a pair of tickets to the Artisan Cheese Fair & Food Fair on Sunday, June 5, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m
Valued at $40 each, Admission includes 10 tasting tickets, a cooler bag for cheese purchases, wine glass for sampling wine and beer, access to all vendors, exhibitors and demonstrations, and free parking.
All you need to do is leave me the cheesiest excuse why you’d head to the festival. You know, so that you can have a Gouda time.

Wow, this is my dream trip come to reality. Do you think they would notice if I attended and then just hung around until all the cheese was gone? 🙂
