My husband took our little boat out of winter hibernation this weekend. I could feel the excitement of a new fishing and camping season just around the corner. Yes. We take part in that great Canadian pastime of summer camping…with a tent, sleeping bags and fireside cooking. We all have our special requests too. My daughter likes to go camping where there are hot showers. My son likes to go camping where there is a wharf or dock that he can jump off of. My hubs like to go where the fish are plentiful. And me…I just like everyone to be happy….and oh yeah….there to be no bears!
I like to think that over the years that I have got this cooking-while-camping gig down. We only use an open fire and a small gas BBQ when we camp, so our meals are simple. I prefer the meals made in tin foil packets because……{singing loudly}…no dishes!
Here are 3 of our very favourite camping recipes in tin foil packets.
1. Potato Boat Dinners with ham, bacon and cheese. So good! Recipe here.
2. Lumberjack Breakfast with sausages, eggs and cheese. Recipe Here.
3. Warm & Melty Cheese Dip that is perfect to serve with crackers, veggies and drinks. Recipe here.
So, tell me, does your family go camping? What are your favourite camping meals?
