Urban Kid Closet – October 18th, 2012

October 18, 2012 by Urban Closet

I like to shop online so I can get the sizes I want – it vexes me to spend my precious time running downtown to hit a store with NONE of the sizes I need. Grrrr… But the trouble with shopping online is not knowing how an item is going to really look in advance. What colour is it exactly? That’s why easy-peasy returns to places like Old Navy appeal to me so much: if it’s bad, I just take it right back. (Or I get my husband to do it for me – he’s so helpful.)
So when this shirt dress, described as a red buffalo plaid came into view, it looked plenty pink to me. In fact, it seemed like a really good shade for this girl child, so I threw it into my shopping cart, along with some skinny cords. And thanks to dye-lots being what they are for big companies like these, they are a spot-on match. Nothing makes me crazier that badly paired pinks. Hurts my eyes, man.
Ava Scarlett wears:
plaid shirt dress – Old Navy, $22.94 $17.99 (sale)
pink skinny cords – Old Navy, $22.94 $11 (sale)
brown leather riding boots – Zara, $65 $25.99 (sale)

Gotta love their sales, huh? Otherwise, getting them outfitted just cost WAY too much. And then it doesnt fit six months later. Oy!!

Saw this at the Old Navy on the weekend. There was also a blue plaid one that I snapped up for my Missy. I got a TON of stuff for about $50 (there was an extra 20% off EVERYTHING – Whoo hoo!!). Thank goodness as her bday & Christmas are coming up!
