First of all, I can’t believe this tutu is still in rotation – it’s sized 12 – 18 months, but it didn’t even start to fit her properly until she was close to three years of age. It’s one of her favourites because it’s all swishy. It’s one of my favourites because it’s good ol’ basic grey. It’s machine washable, virtually indestructible, and it goes with everything. Given the crazy-long longevity, it’s the best almost-no-money I ever spent.
But the thing I’m happiest about are these awesome leather riding boots I bought her about two years ago on sale (because you know I’m not spending $65 on this kind of thing for a kid this age) and they’re just starting to fit her now – there’s a very good chance they’ll still fit her in the spring, too!
I’m loving the crazy-legs tights, with polkadots on one leg, and stripes on the other, and I put a pair of tall striped grey socks with fuschia tops, just to add some more colour – and this is a great pink on this child – and so suits the t-shirt in the same colour. Add jacket and jaunty knitted beanie, and BOOM – let’s go shopping, and maybe even visit daddy at work for a quick coffee ice cream cone.
Ava Scarlett wears:
knit beanie with flower – Old Navy, $14.94
grey faux-leather jacket, B. Hip Kids – Winners, $24.99
girl-in-glasses longsleeve tee – Zara, about $15 (last year)
grey indestructible tutu – Old Navy, about $10 (ancient)
grey dots/stripes “crazy” tights – Old Navy, $7
grey striped socks with fuschia tops – Winners, $7.99
brown leather riding boots – Zara, $65 $25.99 sale (I KNOW!)
Hrmm that was weird, my comment got eaten. Anyway I wanted to say that it is nice to know that somebody else also mentioned this as I had trouble obtaining the exact same information elsewhere. This was the very first location that told me the answer. Thanks.
Good post. I learn something totally new and challenging on blogs I stumbleupon on a daily basis. It’s always interesting to read through content from other authors and practice a little something from their web sites.
fantastico! luby dove vivi? mi propongo come acquirente per le verdure in piu di tuo suocero!
I dont blame you for not wanting to wear an embroidered jean jacket – that sounds just terrible. (Heh.)
And no, actually, I didnt play dress up with dolls very much, but it sure is fun dressing my very own living doll… shes much girlier than I am, and she wants to wear skirts and pink things, so I try to accommodate her in ways that dont make me crazy – like Dora shoes that light up, and Barbie pajamas. *shudders* This is better. 😉
Tracey, did you dress up dolls a lot as a child?
I am not criticizing. She must be the envy of every other little girl at school, but I do wonder. My poor mother only had sons so she tried, once, to buy me an embroidered jeans jacket, very much in style when I was in elementary school, but I flatly refused. If it wasn’t plain t-shirt, and tennis shoes I wasn’t having it.
Indeed, we can! Id wear this – with plain grey tights, then an over the knee sock in a contrasting colour, and tall boots with a denim mini skirt. Same-same, be you four, or forty-four… ALL GOOD!!
I love you, Village… xox
oh yes jules- we can do whatever we please!
can a 42 year old woman pull this off? can i, can i????
what can I say- I want my life and children styled by you.
I want this child for my very own! ADORABLENESS
