I think it’s hilarious that the child can still wear this dress, which will be it’s third summer – it’s still cool in the mornings though, so I’m throwing it over jeans and a puffed-sleeve t-shirt until it starts scorching outside… but this post is all about the shoes.
You might know about this One for One campaign by Tom’s – buy a pair, and the company will donate a pair to a child in need. A person can feel pretty good about that, right?
I have to say, at $40 a pair, it’s the least they can do, since the shoes themselves can’t cost more than four bucks to make. (I mean, really.) But? They’re kind of adorable. I loathe sparkles in kid’s artwork and on holiday cards, but they’re tres snazzy on shoes – especially for little girls.
And there are LOTS of styles to choose from… even for the not-so-little girls (and dudes) out there – check them out!!
Ava Scarlett wears:
Tom’s in sliver – Tony’s Shoes, $40
white poodle t-shirt – Old Navy, about $10
jeans – Old Navy, ancient
cotton daisy dress – Gap, ancient

i have a couple of dress/tunics now which i like since i was having trouble getting rid of some of the really cute ones! im not sold on the toms…they look like a slipper and i think a little running around in the park would destroy them.
although, silver sparklies for “going out” might be worthwhile!

Redefining “fresh as a daisy”. Nice.
When she is done, maybe make it into a pillow, it is so cute.
At least the shoes are ethically made, are eco sensitive and hopefully not harshly making everyone flat footed.
The sparkle on Madame totally makes them. I think they are very adorable on little feet.
I am so old they just look like those old kung fu slippers I really never cared for in eighties so I cannot bear to try a pair on.
I see Tom does other styles too so not everyone has to have that same city-wide look 🙂

They are TRES spendy for what they are – yes. I bought them for wearing to all the closed-shoe places, (like daycamp) and she can put them on herself, which is a must.

I love the sparkly ones, but truth be told Im tiring of seeing them on every other teenage/20-something girl. My biggest beef though is one you mention – the price. They get to say the give a pair to someone in need, but at that price really YOU have bought at least one other pair for someone else, not Toms.
