The Good, The Bad, and the Emmys.

August 31, 2010 by Unknown

That Emmy sure was at the top of her game on Sunday night. Not since the days that Billy Crystal did the opening number at the Oscars have I enjoyed an awards opening. I mean, COME ON. Jon Hamm was dancing and singing..and Kate Gosselin was, well, not.

Overall, I enjoyed Jimmy Fallon as a host – – – the singing was good, including his nod to not understanding LOST at all as sung by a fake Billie Joe Armstrong. The banter was good…”..sending an NBC late-show host to Los Angeles to host a different show — what could possibly go wrong?”
Buckygunts! Dear god, I love me some Ricky Gervais.
Julia Ormond made my spit out my drink. “I’ve been eminated for a nommy!” LOVE.
I am currently downloading Breaking Bad because I have heard only good things, and apparently, Emmy loves this show. I thought they did a good job of giving nods to shows I love – – – Modern Family and Mad Men. But, you guys, LOST was robbed. I mean, LOST. LOST! No love for the smoke monster? Also, with the exception of Jane Lynch’s super well-deserved win, Glee got way too overlooked for me. I mean, that show is GOLD.
For the first time, I saw the appeal of George Clooney. It’s not that I didn’t ever notice him, it’s just that he never showed up on my radar. But, he was lovely up there. I mean, his Bob Hope Humanitarian acceptance speech seemed so natural; it really leads be to believe that this man is nothing but charming in real life.
There is little that made me happier than seeing Temple Grandin snag all those awards. KUDOS.
…And now to the moment you have been waiting for…
THE FASHION.
The ones I loved.

I am so mad I missed it, but hopefully youtube will have some of the highlights for me to check out. We had a family bday party that night and I forgot to set the PVR
I heard some of the highlights on the radio and I loved Ricky Gervais’ comments
I totally agree with your hits and misses. When I saw the pic of January Jones, my first thought was WTF is she wearing and could she not have found a brush

Amusing how much you love Betty Draper’s style – but not January Jones’.
She needs to make life imitate art a little more – that dress was awful…

Okay – I loved the show too. I thought it moved well.
I thought Claire DAnes looked beautiful but I can’t forgive her for the hooking up with expectant father thing…I just can’t.
You need to add Rita Wilson to that worst list – INSANITY! I thought Julia Ormond was loaded – she freaked me out. I can’t WAIT for the Golden Globes with Ricky Gervais…’Keifer needs another couple hours before he’s out of control’ …LOVED!
Man I missed that purple dress on the Glee chick above – gorgeous! I loved Connie Britton but then again…I’d switch teams for Connie Britton!
