While most of the runway events showcased the Spring and Summer Collections for next year, Target decided to transform the venue into a winter wonderland! What was normally a stark, dark tent with one long runway, Target fitted the space with giant sized bright red and white holiday signage. Comfortable throws and cushy pillows from their Threshold collection and exclusive Beaver Canoe for Target home line, were strewned on seats while dashingly handsome men pushed shopping carts down the aisle with gifts as guests were getting all cozy in their seats. Wait…did I say Target at the World Mastercard Fashion Week ? Yes, I did! And that wasn’t the only surprise! Maybelline New York spokesmodel, Erin Wasson opened and closed Target’s first ever WMCFW runway show! Her accomplice on the runway was the company’s beloved bull-terrier mascot, Bullseye! While many of the shows for spring were showing neutrals and fluid lines, Target was poppin’ with colours. Vibrant hits of fuschias, yellows and royal blues bursted onto the runway with models that stepped happily down the centre of the fashion set. The show featured holiday styles for everyone including men, women and kids as well as home decor! Brands featured included Mossimo Black, Merona, Mossimo Supply Co., Beaver Canoe for Target, Threshold, Smith & Hawken, Sam & Libby, Circo, Cherokee, Foxy Original and Cocoa Jewellery. Yes, Target even made it magically SNOW indoors! Somehow it just put me right into the spirit of the holidays! Can’t wait!
