The mornings have been chilly this week, but once the sun comes out full-force, the temps are in the mid-twenties… this wool jacket keeps the wind off me as I whoosh and wind over the shady sidewalks, getting my kid to school.
Almost everything I have on is ancient, but the pants are new-ish. I threw them into my online shopping cart at Forever 21 in the late spring, not actually having very high expectations, but as it turns out, They. Are. Awesome. (I’ve only worn them once or twice before this.)
They’re a really deep olive green, with specks of gold glitter in them. (It’s nice to have a change from blue denim.) They’re a lightweight washable cotton with something-something-stretchy-something in them, so the fit is close, in that excellent way. And unlike those jeggings I bought last year, I feel like the dye will be more colour-fast, and they shouldn’t fade at all. Also? The front pockets open, as jeans are supposed to. WIN!
I’m on the hunt for new boots of this utility – last year, I found out the hard way that they leak… and my Oliver’s scooter totally needs a tune-up, too.
Balls.
Glitter skinny jeans in black/olive – Forever 21, $33.80
black sleeveless v-neck sweater – Jacob, ancient
grey tweed jacket – Bedo, ancient
camo army boot – Winners, ancient

Thanks for your comment, Jamie!
Ive been considering my thoughts on everything to do with leggings ever since I wrote this post… I actually very seldom wear them. And part of the reason is because of fit – I hate any extra bulk, and they bug me when theyre too long (Im only 5 feet tall.) I just never got into the habit of wearing them, and I dont tend to go the “tunic” route with my tops or sweaters. *shrugs* In extreme weather, Ive been known to wear a pair under whatever pants Im wearing (Montreal winters are COLD, yo!) but if I have the choice about it, I usually just opt to stay indoors instead. Heh.

Hey Julie
I checked out the link you posted for the Bluenotes fleece lined leggings and the web site says their out of stock. Likely our store still had a few pairs put away and I purchased two pairs for only $8 each. I am 5.11″ and find it hard to find leggings that come down to my ankles. These leggings fit great and they still bunch up at the ankle. These are are so comfortable I have been wearing them everyday since I purchased them.
Tracy if you have the chance to pick up a pair of these leggings I think you would love them. Thanks for writing this article I going to look for more of theses leggings from Bluenotes.

Tracey says
Interesting… good price, too – though, do they have a cuff at the ankle? Why would they make that? *shakes head*

yknow? theyre not bulky actually. i tried them on and theyre pretty cool…er..warm. its not “fleece” as such, more like someone has roughed up the inside of them to make them fuzzy. mmmm….fuzzzzy…..
