Last night I made a date with one of my foxes to share some wine and chitty-chat at one of our favourite watering holes. As we had a wee break in the crazy-heat wave, I opted to wear this maxi-skirt – a recent score from that quick-and-dirty spree at Costa Blanca.
I’m seriously in love with it.
It’s a greyish-purple. (Is that mauve?) Completely straight from elastic-waist to hem, washable jersey cotton, and lined, so it has a bit of weight to make it drape a little. It’s a very narrow fit, bordering on being a TMI skirt – choose your undergarments accordingly, or go commando. (Heh.)
I threw on that off-white burnout t-shirt and slung that belt I bought last year from the place that rhymes with Sinners, which is an antiqued-silver leather with some blingy rhinestones on the buckle. Blingy ring and earrings. (Nothing at the neck – the boobs are enough.) A skirt this long is already kinda dramatic, so it’s a bad idea to overload the accessories. Casual, with just a bit of wow is better, I think.
I ran into a few other people I know last night, and each one was all, What is going ON with that awesome skirt? And I was all, IKNOWRIGHT?! It was a good purchase. And inexpensive. My favourites.
The downside? It’s yet another garment I can’t wear while riding the scooter. In a skirt like this, one can only take about a ten-inch stride… those mincing little steps have a way of making a lady’s bottom go swish-swish-swish when she walks.
That’s the upside. 😉
Meow-meow.

Meow, indeed. Damn, girl, I just need you to come live in my closet and dress me from now on. You did say you were pocket-sized, so I would be willing to spare the room in there… 😉
