Most of the time, I’m looking like this these days. It’s as cold as a muther out there, yo. For realz. I can’t stand it.
Okay: belts.
Over the holidays, one of my foxes came to spend a few days at the cottage with us, which was all kinds of casual fun. At one point, she bent over to pick up something, and I got a look at her excellent bum belt, which was black and studded in an 80’s kind of way, only with a more current spin on it, and I thought, Hmmm… a wicked-awesome belt with studs or something… that’s JUST what I need! I promised myself to keep my eyes peeled for such a one when we returned to the city.
And you know how the place that rhymes with Sinners is my huckleberry, right? Heh.
So given I’m mostly wearing black + jeans or black + black things (okay really – when am I not?) I thought it best to break things up with a snazzy new belt, since things don’t go so well for me when I try to infuse something like colour. Ahem.
I like this belt. I like the rounded rivets and grommet holes, and I like that it’s both brown and black at the same time, with a worn look. Best of all, I LOVE the larger belt buckle in this slightly elongated octagon, that’s not too polished. Feels chunky. Very nice.
It’s working for me. And you can really get a good look at it when I rock the FULL-tuck, rather than the QUARTER-tuck, because everyone knows if you get a blast of arctic air up your coat these days, you run the serious risk of never getting warm again. Don’t laugh – that happened to me once. I almost died. #truth
